American Literature, Critical Theory, Gender Studies

Classes are offered in English and strongly encourage participation to seminar and workshop activities.

Classes in American Literature are offered to undergraduate and graduate students; in Gender Studies to graduate students; in Critical Theory to doctoral students.

For 5 years classes in gender studies were are conducted as part of the research network Athena, taught in multiple languages in collaboration with faculty in various disciplines and from different countries, in order to underscore the interdisciplinary, multicultural and transnational character of critical discourse in the field. Now the course is part of the graduate curriculum in Philosophy. Other classes in gender studies are offered as part of the Master in Gender Politics and of the Course Donne Politica Istituzioni at the University of Trento.

Thesis Topics

Supervises projects related to the following areas:  Literatures of the USA and the Anglophone Caribbean, modernist and contemporary periods, with a special focus on women's writings and racial themes; critical theory, in particular feminist, postmodernist and postcolonial, deconstructive method, Cultural and New Americanist Studies; literary translation.
